Say it out loud: memorize
Memr.is is pronounced memorize. The domain is a shortened spelling of that word, with a dot before the last syllable. If you have been reading it as a string of letters, try the word instead. The name is the ministry we care about: helping a quizzer hide Scripture and keep it.
This note exists because search bars and autofill are not kind to short names. People land here looking for a language-learning app, a medical records product, or a ticker symbol. Those are different things. If that is you, you can leave kindly. If you meant a Bible quizzing practice tool for churches, you are in the right hallway.
About Memr.is is the on-site story. https://memr.is/ is the public home. Neither page claims that any sanctioning body endorses us. Neither page asks you to confuse us with a neighbor in the search results.
Not Memrise, the language-learning product
Memrise is a known language-learning name. People type it every day when they mean vocabulary in Spanish, French, or another modern language. Memr.is is not that product. We do not teach tourist phrases. We do not host a consumer language course. We do not share their classrooms, accounts, or brand.
If a student in your church uses Memrise for school, that is their school tool. It does not sign them up here. It does not give a coach consent for a minor. It does not load a WPF or UPCI listing. The two names sit near each other in a search box. They do not sit near each other in ministry.
A practical test:
- If you want church Bible quizzing practice, you want Memr.is, said memorize
- If you want a general language-learning app named Memrise, you want that other product’s own site
- If you want both, you still want two logins and two jobs. Do not mix them in a parent meeting
We will not pretend to review Memrise. We will not rank it. We will only say we are not it.
Not medical EMR software
EMR, in clinic language, means electronic medical records. Hospitals and offices look for EMR software when they need charts, billing codes, and clinical workflows. Memr.is is not that software. We do not store medical charts. We do not sell a hospital system. We do not treat a quizzer’s study minutes as a diagnosis.
If a search brought you here because you typed EMR and a short domain appeared, turn around. A church practice tool is the wrong aisle for clinical records. We will not invent a vendor comparison. We will not joke about patient data. The disambiguation is enough: this is not medical EMR.
Parents should still know what we do collect when a family chooses this tool: account, study, and safety information as the policies describe. That is ministry software hygiene, not a clinic. Not the MEMR ticker
Some investors type MEMR when they mean a stock ticker. Memr.is is not a listed ticker, not investment advice, and not a brokerage. If you are looking for a quote, a filing, or a market page, this church-ministry site will not help you. Close the tab and use a market tool.
We will not invent a company behind that ticker. We will not hint that we are “the same letters, different story” in a way that sounds like a security. We are a practice tool with a pronounceable name. That is the whole financial disambiguation.
What Memr.is actually is
Memr.is is an independent practice tool for Bible quizzing and Scripture memory. Churches, coaches, parents, and quizzers can use it to study a portion, review what is fading, and rehearse. It is not a sanctioning body. It does not register a team. It does not certify a meet. It does not rank WPF, UPCI, National Bible Bee, Bible Bowl, or Awana. Those ministries do not endorse us, and we do not speak for them.
You can quiz without this tool. Official listings, a church room, and a coach are enough. If you do use it, How it works maps study, smart review, VerseReels, and rehearsal. According-to is one study form. A practice Match is still practice. Officials still belong to the program you chose.
A few product facts that prevent other confusions:

How to talk about the name in a church hallway
When you announce the tool, say the word. “We may use Memr.is — it sounds like memorize — for practice. It is not the language app, not a medical chart, and not a stock.” Then say the more important sentence: official organizers still run the season.
If a grandparent forwards the wrong link, reply with https://memr.is/ and the pronunciation. If a student creates an account on the language app by mistake, do not scold them for reading too fast. Help them out and start over only if your church actually chose this tool.
