Program profile
National Bible Bowl
A neutral guide to the program's ministry roots, Beginner and Teen divisions, league-season pathway, and official Fall 2026 resources, plus the Bible Bowl-oriented study support available in Memr.is.
Memr.is is independent. Program names are used descriptively and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
The program
Team-based Bible quizzing with two league seasons a year.
The official program describes National Bible Bowl as a youth Bible quizzing program in which teams study a selected text each season and compete in monthly league meets, with an optional national tournament at the end of each season.
-
Ministry home
Restoration Movement roots, open participation.
The official FAQ traces Bible Bowl to students at Lincoln Christian College in the early 1960s, with leadership affiliated with independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, and says teams and participants are not required to be affiliated with any specific denomination.
-
Divisions
Beginner and Teen, by grade.
The official pages list Beginner Bible Bowl for students in 3rd through 5th grade and Teen Bible Bowl for students in 6th through 12th grade. A team is composed of 3–5 players, with no more than 4 playing in a game at a time.
-
Two seasons
A fall season and a spring season.
The official pages describe two seasons per year, each lasting 2–3 months: a fall season from September to November and a spring season from March to May, each with an optional national tournament at its end.
-
Study text
Questions come from the Christian Standard Bible.
The official FAQ says questions are based on the Christian Standard Bible as found in the official Study Guide, and the official resources page lists the study texts, flash cards, rules, and other materials teams use.
Season pathway
From a local team to the national tournament.
This is the high-level route described by the official program pages. Current organizers and the official rules remain authoritative for every eligibility decision.
-
Start a team with adult sponsors.
The official start-a-team page describes teams of 3–5 players guided by trusted adult sponsors who coach weekly reading and study habits, with a recommended weekly practice of 1 to 1.5 hours.
-
Compete in monthly league meets.
Each season's study text is divided into blocks covered by monthly competitions called Leagues, held locally on Saturdays in person or through a virtual league.
