What it is
One reference, one empty box, zero help: type the entire verse from memory, graded word by word. The mode every other mode trains for.
Free recall is the blank-screen test. You get the reference and an empty box (no first letters, no blanks, no help left on the screen), and you type the entire verse from memory. Then Memr.is lines your answer up against the real text, word by word.
Every other mode builds toward this one, because a verse isn't finished until it survives the blank screen. Familiar and memorized feel exactly the same right up until the help disappears. This is where you find out which one you've got.
